Family-owned Steinbeis Papier GmbH has supplied quality magazine, office, and digital printer paper for over 40 years, and the sole raw material is locally sourced recycled paper. During Order Entry, if it is a new material or part, Quality Departments need to ensure that plants have the capability to produce that material and that it is properly defined in the material master data. Orora has been on an implementation journey for Ariba since January 2019, which has had more twists and turns than a Hollywood thriller. We have seen the normal challenges that come with a rollout across 4000 employees, 80+ sites coupled with some left-field challenges including divestment of 2/3 of the business along with the foundation systems, COVID, change in ERP (twice), and change in integration middleware. Despite all the challenges we managed to roll out a system with 100% adoption across 80 sites and are looking to complete a best-in-class implementation in a record 12 weeks for the new Orora environment.
